Treatments
Minimally Invasive and Laparoscopic Procedures.
Intragastric Balloon
Endoscopic technique
It is a spherical device or orb made of soft silicone, placed into the stomach through the mouth endoscopically, which allows its filling volume to be adjusted and adapted to each person.
Designed as a non-surgical alternative in the treatment of overweight or obesity.
Adjustable Gastric Band
Reversible procedure
It is a minimally-invasive procedure in which an expandable silicone ring is placed in the upper part of the stomach, limiting food intake and, therefore, leading to weight loss. This ring is connected to a saline-filled reservoir placed under the skin of the abdomen.
This surgical procedure can be undone.
Gastric Bypass
Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass
It is considered today the "gold standard" in obesity operations. The volume of the stomach is reduced, in addition to making a bypass of the small intestine shortening the passage and absorption of food through it.
These two mechanisms described achieve weight loss goals.
Biliopancreatic Diversion
SADI-S or Duodenal switch
Biliopancreatic diversion is a mainly malabsorptive technique or group of techniques indicated in patients with a higher degree of obesity or metabolic disorders that are difficult to control.
This group of procedures includes the Duodenal Switch and SADI-S among others.
Revisional Surgery
Conversion surgery
They are a group of techniques performed to modify or repair some of the types of weight loss surgery. Patients may opt for a second chance when the results of an intervention have not been as expected or if there has been weight gain again and the reappearance of associated diseases or any complication arising from the first surgery.
